Artist Insights: Jamie Pazmiño

Bringing together the voices of Art Senses 2026 applicants whose proposals earned special recognition, we highlight the ways in which sensory art creates space for humans to become more attentive to ecological interdependence. For this series of single-question interviews, we asked Jamie Pazmiño:‍

What kind of future does sensory art attuned to more-than-human perspectives imagine?

This question relates to our broader inquiry into sensory art practices that move away from human-centric towards more-than-human perspectives, cultivating new ways of relating to diverse living forms and invisible, life-sustaining ecological systems. For more on this topic, read our feature, Learning from Artists: More-than-Human Sensing.

Jamie Pazmiño is an Ecuadorian visual artist and researcher based in London. With a foundation in philosophy and visual arts, her work engages with ecology, decolonial thinking, and cultural memory through collaborative and community-rooted projects.
